This pendant takes a substantial butterfly shape and fills each of its four wings with fine yellow gold filigree scrollwork, framed by a diamond-cut white gold border along the outer edge. The body sits raised at the centre, cut with a textured chevron pattern that gives it real dimension against the flatter, open wings either side.
Rather than a solid or pierced-only design, the layered construction of filigree scrolls set against a bordered outer wing gives the pendant genuine depth and detail at a large scale. It hangs from a curb chain via a plain gold bail, with the size and craft of the piece designed to be the clear focal point.
